January 05, 2011 - NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Wegmans announced this week that they are beginning recruitment for full-time positions at the Northborough store which is set to open in October of 2011 as part of the Northborough Crossing Development located on Route 20.

The Northborough Wegmans, a 145,000 square-foot supermarket, will be part of Northborough Crossing, a $100 million shopping and residential complex that is still under construction. Rochester, NY-based Wegmans Food Markets is popular for its selection of high-quality prepared foods and grocery

Available full-time positions include everything from customer service and entry- level management positions, to culinary professionals. The Northborough store will employ approximately 600 people, 550 of whom will be hired locally. Of these, there are 150 full-time positions to be filled. Hiring for part-time positions will begin at a later date.

"Part of what makes working at Wegmans so special is the longevity of our employees and the fact that we promote from within," said Kevin Russell, Wegmans' Northborough store manager. "I began working for Wegmans 25 years ago as a Produce Clerk and am now proud to be opening our first store in the New England market. We are looking for employees to grow with the company as so many of us have."
